Memorial Day Weekend

So my sister was in town this weekend for a conference. It was a nice weekend and we were able to take her to see some of the sites around town. We had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves. It was fun having her in town and Lulu especially loved it. It was a very eventful weekend. Here are some of the photos.

We went to a baseball game. They honored all of the servicemen with a color guard from each of the branches of military. This is the color guard for the army. They also did a firework show at the end of the game. Lulu loved the fireworks.

While Jenn was at her conference we were able to go to Michael and Melanie's baby blessing. It was fun having the whole crew together. Although controlling 4 babies (Maren and Lulu were on their second sacrament meeting) during the meeting was a little out of hand.

We took Jenn to the Fort Worth Zoo. It was a little hot- yeah about 95 degrees or so w/ like 100% humidity, but we had a nice time. We enjoyed Lulu's responses to all of the animals. We took her to the bird sanctuary and she fed the birds.

We went to the stockyards to see the cattle drive. They herd about 11 or so longhorns up Exchange Place in Fort Worth. They do it twice a day, everyday. Also in the stockyards they have museums, lots of western shops, restaurants, etc. It is a fun place to take people to see what the area used to be like.

The symphony does several free concerts during the summer and this was the first. They played for about an hour, with several different composers featured. The nice part was that the weather was absolutely beautiful, so we really enjoyed it. The girls were hysterical and were dancing and twirling the entire time. They loved the music.

At the end of the concert they set off fireworks. (It was a weekend of fireworks.) They were great and this was also a favorite for the girls.

Wow! Dallas really does Memorial Day! I love seeing The photos! I haven't taken Evie to the zoo since last Summer and she's so into animals now that I am sure she would be tons of fun to watch. I'm glad you got to see your sister too!

wow, it sounds like a blast. I have never done anything like this for memorial day. Fireworks are still a favorite of mine. Always look forward to them on the fourth and eventhough I don't get to go every year I wish I did.

That was quite the eventful weekend, especially considering how hot it was. I definitely wouldn't have braved the zoo if it was that hot here. I'm thinking I need to see a picture of your actual family so I can figure out who is who. I know you have lots of sisters, but I'm only familiar with Katie.

I'll post one tonight. It gets awfully confusing for us as well. My mother always used to yell-
Jennifer, Libby, Lara, whatever your name is.. get up here.

I'm glad you made it to the stockyards at the correct time.
Also, will you email me the cute picture of kids?

Did you take that photo of the fireworks? Love it. I think those are hard to capture. I'm with Jill, I wouldn't have been taking outdoor excursions with that combo of heat/humidity! Yuck. Do you ever get used to it?
