Farmer's Market

Kaycee, Cathy, and me

Farmer's Market

It was finally my turn to go to the Farmer's Market for the food co-op. I have no idea why anyone would get up so early in the morning (5:37 am to be there by 6), but I did it. Unfortunately the girl that is in charge of the whole thing and has oriented everyone else, was out of town this week so my little partner and I were on our own. Cathy, a girlfriend from the co-op that had gone before, came with us, which was a lot of help. We kind of figured it out and started picking items. We actually decided to get some oddball things, like a pineapple, kiwi, and asparagus. I know this doesn't seem all that odd, but it was the first time we got any of those items. After shopping, we had to divide all the items, which was kind of a pain. Especially since people have half orders and others have full orders. We wanted to make sure it was fair, but we had to be a little creative. Regardless, we had a great time. Even though it WAS the crack of dawn.

I think its fabulous that you do this. I would love to get involved in something like that. And you really are living on the edge aren't you? I mean pineapple, kiwi and asparagus--you're such rebels!

I am so jealous! I love asparagus! That co-op sounds like heaven!
That is way too early for me though! Why so early? Will all the good stuff be gone or something?

That's way too early to be up, but it's cool that you do that.

You know, I hate getting out of bed early, but once I'm up and outside, I love the feeling of starting my day before everyone else. I am searching for a co-op here, I really want to do it, it is hard to find good ones. Any ideas on my search?

Tasha- Does this mean the computer is working again. I thought for sure you were going to throw it out the window along with the 881 days of service left on your warranty.

You have to go early to make sure you get the good stuff. When we got there, they were already out of a couple of things.

Jordan- this is through church and a neighborhood. I'll ask Kaycee- she always knows these things, and just read an article about food co-ops.

I love asparagus with a nice lemon-butter sauce. I still can't believe you got up that early, but hey at least your turn is done for awhile

I love the fresh produce picture. I wish I was involved in a co-op like this, even if I did have to get up early!
