Happy Turkey Day

I hope everyone has a wonderful Turkey Day. Adam and I have been busy. We got up early so Adam could play in the annual ward turkey bowl. The "old guys" played against the Young Men in the ward. It went terribly for the Young Men. Lulu and I went to cheer our guy on, but ended up playing at the playground. We got home and started cooking for dinner. We almost missed our dinner, because Lulu refused to get dressed. I swear aliens have abducted our beautiful baby and returned a less than accomodating child. Sheesh. We finally got to dinner- 1 hour late, but hey.. we still got there. I was ready to scrap the whole idea and just stay home. We had a nice dinner and enjoyed good company.

Because we got there so late, I didn't get to give my list of things I'm thankful for so.. here it goes.

1. Water (especially after going to India)- I'm thankful for something that I think rarely about, but have had my eyes opened with my most recent journey. I know now what a huge luxury it is.
2. My beautiful family. I know- very cheesy, but I cannot believe how lucky I am.
3. The weather was soo beautiful we could eat our turkey outside
4. Wonderful friends all over the world
5. How easy and simple my life is- how lucky I am to live in America and have so many luxuries.

Happy Thanksgiving Y'all.

Sorry Lulu was such a pain. I just HATE those funks they get in. Just ride it out :) Great thankful list. I'm sure your India trip did provide you with an amazing appreciation for the things we take for granted everyday.

Lars- I love your list. We miss you and can hardly wait for your fam to come for Christmas. I'm sorry that Miss Lulu had other plans.

Yeah Shad and I were just asking what happened our easy going child (well most of the time), she is being replaced by a screaming, cry whenever I get told no or don't get my way child. I think the girls are headed into the terrible threes. Twos have always been easy with my kids, I hate the threes.

I am glad you got to go though and enjoy a Thanksgiving feast.

I agree with Katie, age three has been harder for me than two. This too shall pass... this too shall pass...

I like your thankful list, I definitely forget to be thankful for water and the other comforts of life.

I love it that you included water on your list. That's a good reminder for those of us not brave enough to venture out to countries where clean water isn't available (or toilets right?).

As for Lulu turning into a less than accomodating child...I feel for you.

Yes! Water is an excellent thing to express gratitude for. I'm with ya! We couldn't drink the water in Russia and we had to wash our veggies with bleach water. We've had plenty of those toddler "funks"--as Amy calls them--and it is true what she says, to "just ride it out". It's no use getting in a funk yourself, right? I too often do.

Love the list. After your stories of India I can see why water is #1. It would be on the top of my list as well. Thank goodness for modern conveniences.
