I am glad you shared your list. It is great to think that I knew most of those and actually could add them to my list. Shad thinks I am crazy that I like scalding hot showers, I blame it on Aunt D and the nebraska trip.
You really are an amazing person, who I think is well rounded in so many ways.
Hooray! I'm so glad you posted your list. So fun to get to know more about your quirks (as my grandma says, we all have our idiosyncrasies).
First of all, shut up, you don't like the smell of skunk. How can anyone like that smell? Ew!
I sincerely hope you have changed your opinion of To Kill a Mockingbird since reading it. One of my all time favorite books that I think I should probably re-read every year.
I'm so sorry you have to be on prednisone, what a bane.
I'm glad you stopped buying purses if it keeps Adam from buying firearms!
I'm so with you on irregardless!@!
I thought I loved domestic animals, too, until we got our dog.
I can't believe you love hard candy, that is one of the only treats I have no problem passing up.
I love #82. I hope you call me a freak someday.
Can't believe you and Adam have the same birthday! How does that work out?
Re: 35. Everything? Surely Adam wasn't *that* bad.
Lara,
Too many to count, you know I have a potty mouth, I did NOT know you hate talking on the phone, sorry about all of our 2 hour conversations! I love your list- write that book, editors and proofreaders are for the grammar bit of it, and I am totally with you irregarless is NOT a WORD.
Oh yeah, lets be Goodwill Ambassadors toghether!
Thanks for your Mardi Gras comment. I think it is going to be a fun 'new' holiday for us.
How fun that you were recently able to take a trip to New Orleans
Great list, Lara. Most of the lists I've read were for people whose blogs I've been reading for a long time. It was good to learn more about you.
I don't see why you were hesitant to post your list, it's wonderful.
--I can't really imagine you as being socially introverted. Granted I have minimal experience with you, but you seem totally self-confident, interesting, and able to talk about anything.
--I enjoy it that you have a potty mouth.
--Why did it take you so long to fall in love with jeans?
--I hate it when people say irregardless too! It's embarrassing.
--You seem to have a lot of interesting life experience for your young years.
tlkekHooray! So gald for this glimpse into Lara! We have some quirky things in common - I knew I liked you! I eat my candy by color groups, too (Skittles being my favorite candy to group) and I, too, could eat Runts all day long. I love hot (SCALDING hot, thank you) showers, too. My favorite color is red (o.k., not quirky, but fun to have in common) and I also read the end of the book first (Tyler finds this borderline repulsive ... which pleases me all the more!) and please, let me never hear "irregardless" again!
So glad there's YOU!
Just so I'm clear, no one here is saying "irregardless" is not a word, right? It's clearly a word. It's just not a word that ever has a good reason to be used.
Brent-
Irregardless is not a word. Look it up. Also, only you and Adam would have that comment for #35.
Wow Lara, you may be a sista from another mother. I always wanted to go to law school, but now I am thinking of getting a masters in comparative lit (I get to take classes at Columbia for free while I work here). I also listen to my iPod way too loud, I am way too sarcastic, I spend money to medicate, and I love purses (but not as much as shoes). I also used to never wear jeans, but then I got a few pairs of 7's and I love them-- who says money can't buy happy jeans.
It is very cool that you and Adam have the same birthday-- Eric's and mine are 2 days apart.
Where do you like to go in NYC? I think I would like hanging out with you here-- just as long as you don't go to the tourist traps.
I would love to see a picture of your wedding dress-- It sounds amazing.
Lara,
I have looked it up. Here's your link: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/irregardless
It's non-standard, but that's not the same thing as it not being a word. If it were not a word, it would not appear in a dictionary at all. It just means that it's not a good idea to use it in erudite conversation. Luckily, I never engage in such conversation, so I'm free to use it at will.
Moreover, and irregardless of your comments, if I were Adam, I'd be pretty offended by #35. But as we know, Adam is a man very secure in his manlihood, what with the firearms and the passing of gas and whatnot.
You would like my neighborhood it smells of skunk every morning. Eww!
Oddly my mom's birthday is the 4th of July and I feel like she always gets robbed, but she doesn't feel that way.
Jeans are my favorite attire too. I just wish it was cool enough to wear them in the summer.
I too am glad you posted your list!
Julia-
I lived the high life, because I was a nanny and didn't have to pay rent (at least that is what someone once told me). I lived there about 11 years ago and STILL miss it. There was only maybe 1 singles ward- crazy looking at it now. We were at 66th between 1st and 2nd. I actually get back maybe once a year. We have some friends that moved there last year and that makes it so much easier to justify a visit. Especially since we don't have to pay for a hotel.
Do y'all think you will stay? What is your husband going into? Any chance he is interviewing in our town?
Lara,
There are 4 singles wards now, but I'm sure they will split them soon.
I have to agree with the critics-- Serendipity is overrated. I guess if you lived in the neighborhood, it's a little different. But I won't dog on the UES too much, I may be living at 68th and York very soon.
Eric is going into General Surgery, and we hope to stay in the city.
Hello from the Bay of Fundy!~ Great that your friends are planning to visit the Bay of Fundy for your 10th anniversary. That's a big trip from Texas. I understand that, in the States, you actually study about the Bay of Fundy in science or biology in high school. Neat! i've been keeping a blog about living, working, protecting and sharing the bay with the highest tides in the world...bayoffundy.blogspot.com... Let me know if you needs some travel info - I'd be happy to assist from 'up here'.
I love you very, very much.
" I laughed, I cried..., it moved me Bob."
Loved your list! I too need a good cry every once in awhile. That's why i watch Extreme Makeover Home edition. :) I also love diet coke; wish i didn't. I am also trying to work on my potty mouth. I really comes out when I am watching the Cornhuskers or the Spurs. Thanks for sharing!
I REALLY want to see your wedding dress! I loved reading your list, so entertaining!
So fun to read these 100 things about you!!!! You are such a well-rounded, smart, funky, CUTE, funny woman!!!! Thanks for sharing!
Sorry so late...I'm glad you published your list. It was happy to see how much we had in common.
I love having a tape recorder in the car (I talk to myself too). Definitely get one. It's great. I'm terrible at grammar too. I want my children to have a magical childhood as well. Any ideas how to make that happen? I love hot showers. I never wear my wedding ring. I love office supplies.
I knew a lot of those. You are such a great dresser and you definitely are an amazing mother. I am a little lost on #90. Were you being sarcastic??? Love you
