Finally HOME

It has only taken a week to post that we made it home. Of course our return home was filled with drama. We got to the airport 1 hour and 15 minutes before our flight (not my choice- my sister tricked us). If only we had known that the flight was delayed an hour. As usual- the one hour delay became a 3 hour and 45 minute delay. Seriously- the whole thing was ridiculous. What a NIGHTMARE. The one positive outcome- we were able to shove our ridiculous amount of luggage into our friend's car... it totally saved us from having to drive back out to the airport to pick up the rest of our luggage. I really should have taken a picture of us waiting at the airport and the car, but I didn't.

These are the fun things we came home to:

A giant stack of Christmas Cards

I had to hang them- even if it was only for a minute.

My girlfriend Marcelle left a little something for our return home

Yep- Dead bird

Yep 2nd dead bird. Total of 4 DEAD BIRDS. Is that normal?

So the whole dead bird thing. I need to actually call the Dept of Public Health, but still have yet to do it. I'm a little unsure why we would have 4 dead finches in our backyard. I just keep waiting for the little babies to wake up and fly off. Strange- no? I've got problems.

In other news: Can I tell you how much I have LOVED reading the 100 lists. It has been great getting to know the other bloggers. I've been shocked that I share so many similarities with my fellow bloggers. It feels so good to know- I'm not alone.

I actually wrote my lists months ago when Stephanie posted hers in 3 installments. I'm still not sure I'll ever post it. Partly because it is too much information for me and also- I'm not sure I can be honest. Can you guess what one of mine is? It seems unfair since I have loved reading the others, but I've got problems.

I'm actually headed to NOLA this weekend to see the newest Craft Night Girl. Does anyone have any requests from NOLA?

How delightful to come home to such a huge stack of Christmas cards. I'm glad you hung them up. I still have a bunch of ours hanging up because I can't bear to take them down. I'm going to keep them up until I get sick of them being there.

What's up with the dead birds? Is there any sign of foul play (no pun intended) from another animal? Are they crashing into a window and breaking their necks? It's a sad mystery really.

It may be time to face the reality that Delta sucks as much as any other airline, and that brand loyalty in the airline business is rather silly.

Did you hear about all those birds that were dead on the street in Austin on Monday? I read an article about it in the Times-- apparently they had to close a large stretch of the main street to clean them all up.

What fun to come home to all those Christmas cards.

What a fun stack of mail to return home to.

I'm kind of disturbed by the dead birds -- one summer we had 3 die in our backyard but it was due to some pesticide I had used trying to get rid of some noxious, very hardy weeds. We had to have a bird funeral.

I wish you would post your 100 list, they are all so fun to read! And have a great time in NOLA, you traveling fiend.

Welcome home! Sorry about the delay . . . with children that is a nightmare! Have a great time in New Orleans.

Julia- We heard about the birds. Isn't it bizarre. I don't think they have figured out what caused the babies to die.

Michelle- Hysterical a bird funeral. The joys of having kids old enough to know.

I think your Christmas cards look great all over the wall.

Welcome home.

Dead birds? Definitely freaky. Loved that you hung the cards if only for a moment, totally something I would have done. PLEASE post your 100. Just as many people will be shocked at how much they have in common with YOU.

Hi Lara! my request is the same as Tasha's - I want to come to NOLA, too! Have a ball! Of course you will. I just finished watching the Saints beat the Eagles - I know it's just a game, but I also know how much it means to the city. And to those of us poor saps who still long to be there!

I would definitely have hung those Christmas cards, too.

Post your list! Post your list! Although you don't have to listen to me at all because I don't have a list. And I am very, very behind in my blogging. And I am not your boss. Hey - that's 3 things about me. I could totally bust out 97 more, right?

Those dead birds are disturbing. Frightening and confusing and sad. Poor birds. what in the world happened?

what fun surprises to come home to (minus the birds, of course). all of my christmas decor is down but i still can't bare to take all the cards down.

you really should call on the birds. i had a dead one here and called and they weren't too worried about it since it wasn't a certain kind. but i think finches might have been one of those on the list. good luck with that!

Shawna-
People were CRAZY in NOLA about the Saints. Seriously- it was like Mardi Gras- but black and gold.

I almost fainted when goofball Bush fumbled. Heart stopper. Those people need something good in their lives- 8 murders last week, FEMA trailers, and crazy power issues is no way to live.

Allison-
I'm sorry I missed you. I didn't get your post until I got back from NOLA. What amazing weather y'all had this weekend.
