NOLA

We made it home- Thank Heavens. The roads were a bit of a mess because of the ice storms that I'm sure y'all have heard about. Here is a list of my favorite things:

The Likes:
- Muffuletta from Central Grocery
-eating in Jackson square
-music in Jackson square
-breakfast at La Boulangerie
-Driving for 8 hours with Marcelle to catch up
-meeting Marcelle's dad and fabulous step mom
-Lebanon's Cafe (ohh how I miss it)
-Crabby Jack's- crazy chaos, but so totally New Orleans
-walking on the Levee
-76 degrees- need I say more?
-seeing Marcelle's mom again and her crazy house. Finally making some progress.
-the SAINTS winning their 1st playoff game in 40 years
-EVERYONE dressed in their Saints attire
-But- the best.. meeting baby Mia.

The Dislikes:
It seems impossible to have a dislike when you are going to NOLA, but..

-Lulu PUKED in the car ride just outside of Baton Rouge- it is official.. she gets carsick
-Driving home in ridiculous weather-- Rain, Rain, and more Rain.. oh wait- I forgot about the FREAKING ice.
-Eating so much food I thought I was going to be sick... not sure if that is really a dislike though.

It was a great trip. I'm already planning on my return trip. One of the bonuses of being stuck in a car for so long.. I actually rewrote my 100 things about me and I'm going to post it this week. I know.. I said I wouldn't, but it was interesting to think of what I would want people to know about. The other interesting thing.. I had almost the same list twice.. A little shocking.

Sounds like a great trip. We are totally excited about the Saints around here as well.

Sorry to hear about the lovely car ride. I probably would have hurled too. Glad you made it safely home and can't wait to see your 100 post. It's been fun to read everyone elses.

Too bad about the carsickness. Lucas is the same way. If we are going in the car for more than 1/2 hour, we give him a chewable Dramamine, we have a stash in the glove box.

Love the photo from inside the car. 76 degrees is really hard to imagine right now -- our high today was 15. I wish I was in Jackson Square right now!

i'm really excited to read your 100 list as well. its fun getting an inside glimpse of everyone!

Sounds like a great trip. 76 degrees- just not fair! I am a total car sick person if I am not driving so I can feel Lulu's pain. Sorry you had to deal with it- smell and all.

Oh, carsickness--yuck. Neither of my kids seem to suffer from it, but I did when I was little. I remember amy times having to pull over to throw up on the side of the road. Terrible for a parent.

I've never beento New Orleans, but have always wanted to go. Maybe I'll print up your list and remember it when we're trying to decide where to go on vacation. I'll fell like I have an insider's view.

I'm glad you made it home, despite, ice storms, rain and vomit. There is no place like home--expecially after a road trip!

Oh Lara!! You make me so homesick for New Orleans. I was listening to my Nola CD today and thinking of all the little things I loved. I am jealous, too. What I wouldn't do for so southern cookin' right now!

You are such the traveling girl, it's hard to keep up with you. I'm glad you had a great trip (other than puking of course).

I can't wait for your 100 list!!

Car sickness would be the worst. I've done this before, but luckily it was only 45 minutes.

So looking forward to you list!

I can't wait to see your 100 list. I probably should have thought about mine more. I just wrote and posted, now there are things I wish were on it (and maybe a couple that weren't).

It seems like you guys are on the road a lot. Too bad it can't come without the carsickness....glad you had a great trip anyway.

You may find this ridiculous, but I miss New Orleans right now because I am not there in my black and gold! Football is big at the Borgs - we love our Saints - and I should be there! In my BLACK and GOLD! At the risk of sounding sappy (who am I kidding? I AM sappy), just hearing "New Orleans" does something to my heart - both happy and sad all mixed together. Hayden describes this feeling as "kind of 'yay' and kind of 'oh.' I love that place. Oh, I love that place. Lucky, lucky you to get to return. I'm so happy you had such a great time.
