Valentines Day Recap

We had a GREAT day yesterday. Adam and I decided to decorate for Valentine's Day. We made hearts out of wax paper and crayola shavings (thank you Martha Stewart). We hung them from all the door frames, above Lulu's bed, and down the hallway to our bedroom. She was so excited about them she kept calling them birds. I wanted to make a fancy breakfast, but because Adam and I were up until 2:30 decorating her room we didn't quite get to the heart shaped pancakes.

Lulu has a little co-op babysitting swap we do every week and we have to pack her a lunch. We made her a heart shaped sandwich and we put love notes in her lunchbox.

We also gave her the final gift of her Valentine's Day box (although I never quite got around to making the box so I should really say her Valentine's Day bag). Her last gift was a book about cats. She got her big gift yesterday (she had her class party) which was a pair of Valentine's Day pants, a shirt, and pink sparkle shoes. She has gotten several fun gifts (I went shopping at the Dollar Tree). She got Valentine gel stickers for the window, a watch, princess stickers, princess coloring book and crayolas, pillow cases, Little Mermaid doll, a balloon, puzzle, and I'm sure a couple of other things. It was fun giving her something everyday, but I've decided it was probably a little much. I'll definetly give her much less next year.

Adam got me lamps for our bedroom for my Valentine's Day gift and some flowers.

I have also gotten several good pieces of mail- although I don't really deserve them. Especially since I haven't sent good mail in AGES. I need to get back on the bandwagon.

Julia sent me a great TEXAS cookie cutter with a recipe. Julia's cupcake recipe is amazing, so I am excited to try her sugar cookie recipe.

Amy W sent me a fun activity for Lulu and I to do. We are planning a little baking day on Saturday and this is one of our recipes.

Cute Amanda S sent me this fun little package. So thoughtful and really cheered me up. They are these adorable magnets.

My dad always sends me a card and a box of chocolate for Valentine's Day. It is one of my most favorite things. His cards are always specifically picked out and I love that he takes the time.

Kristi sent me a bunch of black and black/white ribbon. Ahhh- I'm in heaven!

Glad you are back to blogging! LOVE the hearts hanging all over, and Lulu is one lucky little girl! I went to Gymboree today (extra 20% off clearance, AND Gymbucks goes until Monday I believe) and found a Valentines shirt for next year. They had really cute valentine outfits and hair bows.

I love those wax hearts. My kids would be in heaven to have things hanging from the ceiling. I need to add that to my file of ideas (and opening the file would be helpful). It looks so cute!

I'm glad you guys had a nice Valentines.

That's some fabulous good mail! I get on and off the good mail bandwagon too. I don't know why, it makes me happy when I am doing it...

I, too, wish we had taken advantage of our overlap in NOLA to get to know each other. Thanks for your comments. A few were sent to a spam file that I just located - all taken care of! Hope you are well, it has been fun to look back through your pages a bit. love that Lulu!
