October in Texas

I love Texas in October, because the State Fair of Texas is in full swing. The best part- they practically fry anything that can be fried. So this year the big addition was Fried Cookie Dough. We tried it- nothing to write home about. However, I would write home about the Fried Oreo. It sounds disgusting, but it isn't.. really. I tried it. The thing about the fair- you have to be willing to try any of the things you would never, ever consider eating outside of the fair. An example, the Fletcher Corny Dog. I actually know someone that has lunch on a fairly regular basis at the fair because of these "delicious" corny dogs. I say "delicious", because it is fairly greasy and I'm not sure I would make it a regular meal, but when you go to the fair you have to be willing to indulge.

Teddy loved his first fair outing

Lulu at the Little Helping Hands Farm. She got to milk a cow, plant seeds, pick things, etc. She loved it.

You're so skinny already!! How did you do that? Wow. I'm so glad you have a picture of the 4 of you. I'm seriously wondering if I've ever seen a picture of your husband before or if it has just been so long ago I don't remember what he looks like.

Fried cookie dough, hmmm.

This is too funny. Everything that can be fried will be fried at the fair. And even some things that probably shouldn't be! You look great.

Yee haw! I grew up in the Midwest and it was a big deal to go to the fair. I LOVE them. Yes, the ONLY place to get a great corndog. You look fab--the kids so big!

How I miss the Texas State Fair. Though I must say now that I'm out of Texas I think a corny dog is just a corn dog. But I love that food snob Rachel Harris loves them. Ruth
