In honor of "the Walrus" ....this is for you Brent.

It was our friend Brent's birthday this week, so in his honor here is a list of the most entertaining things about Brent and a second list of why we love him despite the first list.

10. He is a music snob.
9. He regularly checks off parenting from his to do list.
8. He claims he would gladly give up his job if only his wife's profession paid more.
7. He gets really crazy when we discuss the uptown branch in NOLA (they moved in the year we were moving out, so we only knew them a little in NOLA, but then they followed us to Dallas and we were able to become friends).
6. He disciplines his son by putting their heads together and having a little chat.
5. He thinks we won't be friends for more than 5 years.. we are currently on our 4th year of friendship.
4. He regularly says things just to drive me crazy, but always apologizes the next time he sees me. Well not necessarily apologizes, but makes sure our friendship is still intact.
3. He only reads non-fiction books. But he recently read Pride and Prejudice.
2. The man is a lawyer so he can argue. He still argues with me about the fact that airlines charge 10% for children under the age of 2 to fly internationally. Even though he knows this statement is in fact true.
1. I should really carry a dictionary when I'm around him. He uses a ridiculous number of big words.

#2
10. He agreed to take Lulu to daddy/daughter night (which is a HUGE thing for him to commit to) without hesitating.
9. He loves to hold Kaycee's hand.
8. He is a cheap man, but after his wife had a very hard day, he bought her a Pottery Barn mirror for their house.
7. He totally loves my kids.
6. He is very loyal.
5. He isn't a fake man- you know where you stand with him.
4. He is a picky eater, but will make due wherever we go.
3. He and his wife are ridiculously smart.
2. He knows a huge amount of information about the church, but isn't obnoxious about it and doesn't flaunt it.
1. Everyone knows we will be BFF's forever.

Happy Birthday Buddy Boy.

That's all nice and good, but where is that book I was promised?

Seriously, though, this kind of post makes me wish that we lived in the same town.

I am so grateful that B & K came into your life. I really enjoy them when we come.. Brent is the most entertaining individual I have ever met. He is the only person I know that can say something to you and you're not sure if he is kidding or if he is serious. He has the same look on his face for both situations. It is very entertaining to watch him and Txgirl go at it.

Lara your post was completely acurate, however, all Brent needed was more compliments to enlarge his already huge ego...just kidding it was funny to read. Thanks for posting.

Who's this Brent guy and how long have "we" been friends with him?

Aha, so this is the Brent I often see in your comments! And he is married to get-it-done Kaycee? Even better. Yours sounds like a very fun friendship.
