New to Me

I just ran a quick errand and found myself listening to this amazing musician, Melody Gardot, on NPR. I actually pulled into the parking stall and sat there for 15 minutes listening to her recount her story. You can get the gist here. She is very jazzy, but also folkie. She reminds me a lot of Norah Jones, but as usual, her music becomes so much more powerful when you know the story behind the songs. You can find it on iTunes. I would highly recommend. Some Lessons is the song that talks about her accident. She actually said she doesn't like performing it, because it is so painful to relive.

Thanks for the tip. I quite like her music. Even better to know the story behind it.
