Wednesday Forecast

Highs:
An hour to myself: I took Lulu to swim lessons and I had 1 hour to kill so I was able to chat with several friends. It is always nice to catch up.

Dental Insurance: Received a reimbursement check from our dental insurance for the work Lulu had done on her teeth. Not the total amount, but a hefty portion.

Buying the same book twice: There are some advantages. I've been reading The Poisonwood Bible and the other day I misplaced it. I've searched high and low, but haven't been able to locate it. Thankfully I went to my bookshelf and saw I purchased a second copy for just such an occasion (okay not really- I just bought the stinking thing twice). I've been able to jump right back into reading it and have stopped looking.

Enjoying Life: Yesterday we went to our local pool for a birthday party. It started to rain and everyone ran under the umbrellas to wait it out, even the little kids. I commented that I thought it was funny because we were all there in our bathing suits, waiting to get in the pool, but were huddled under an umbrella so we wouldn't get wet. So- I got the kids involved in a game of "Bear, Bear, What time is it?" in the rain. We had fun running around and getting wet.

Lows:
Electric Bill: We received our electric bill today.. $266.33. Hello. $266.33 for electricity. We seriously try and conserve as much as possible so I'm at a complete loss. Our thermostat was set at 78-- it is now set at 80. We also told Lulu she isn't allowed to have her bathroom light on at night, but will have to make due with a night light. I know.. we are awful, but $266.33.

Shocking, but today has been a really great day and I don't have another low to add. Yee haw.

It's a red letter day when there are more highs than lows.

We could have used two copies of PWB last summer. We took it to Alaska and were trying to read it at the same time. Eventually we just ripped it in half, much easier that way.

Is that electric bill a lot higher than usual? If so, I would call the electric company and make sure they didn't charge wrong. Also, change the filter on your furnace because it needs to be done with the air conditioner too. Glad you had more high's than lows. Was there lightening? That would be the biggest reason to get out otherwise why not stay in the pool?

I'm glad you had such great highs for today. That electric bill is crazy! How are you supposed to survive a Texas summer with your thermostat set on 80? I'd die for sure.

I loved The Poisonwood Bible.

Ever since you taught Evie "Bear Bear, what time is it?" She loves to play. I think playing in the rain would be great.

Ouch on the electricity. One think I've been amazed about this house is that even though its substantially bigger than our house in PA, its been about 1/3 less to heat and cool. I don't know if it is just that much better insulated or what. I seriously wish we could have built and done solar and wind power or something. I would love to have our family off the grid.

So glad you got some reimbursement for that dental work, I know it was a huge expense!

Okay, this may make you feel a little better. We just got our last statement from Cirro and it was $272.83. We were also driving in the car today and out of the blue Jonah says, "Mommy, Lulu gone." It breaks my heart!

Okay, at least your electric bill wasn't over $300 like mine and I'm still waiting on my gas bill! Yikes!
Too funny about the pool/rain. Luci and Griffin always holler at everyone to quit splashing them and getting their face wet while swimming and I feel like Come On Guys, we are at the POOL for cryin' out loud! That's what you do - get wet!

Not to shabby having one low, but that is a painful amt to pay for electricity. I cringe at the thought of paying ours next month.

Yay for part of Lulu's teeth to be reimbursed. What a blessing!

oh my goodness....I have no idea what ours is, i feel bad that I turn on the air ocassionallly, like two to three times a day...when it cools down, I turn it off...some hours later, I do the same....good thing, most of the time it cools down at night.....that is funny about the bathing suits...

I love this post. Hooray for more highs than lows! Always a good day when that happens.

I have no idea what my electric bill would be if I didn't have the equal pay plan -- we pay the same amount every month regardless of usage (of course it gets adjusted sometimes). Yikes.
