Lulu: "Mom, I'm full."
Me: "You need to eat 5 more bites."
Lulu: "Can I eat three?"
Me: "No, but how about 4?"
Lulu: "Okay I can eat 4."
Me: "I know Lulu, why don't you eat 4 bites and 1 for good measure?"
Lulu: "Yes, 4 bites and one for good measure. That is a great idea mom."
When do you think she is going to catch on?
1. Teddy is a screamer. He loves to scream when he wants out of his chair, because YOU THINK he is full. But, after he gets out of his chair he proceeds to eat all of the food that fell in his chair. Like it is some kind of snack.
2. It is Green Chile Festival at Chuy's. Adam especially loves this event every year, so we usually eat out a couple of times. This is the hysterical t-shirt we purchased for a lucky recipient (to be named when the t-shirt is opened by unnamed person) at our most recent culinary (I say that VERY loosely) adventure.
3. Lulu started ballet. She asked if we would like to be entertained during snack time. Here she is:
Teddy is just amazed. BRAVO.
(sorry the pictures are so terrible. If you saw the lighting in my kitchen you would understand why. I actually have to turn on the pantry light and keep the door open to properly see the stove.)
4.
Adam: "Lulu what are you doing?"
Lulu: "Reading the scriptures."
Did you notice the sunglasses on top of her head? Don't you love this little chair? We got it from IKEA.
5.It seems we purchased no ORDINARY fish. Meet Hailey the Houdini. Adam came in the other day and said "Hailey jumped into Javier's side of the tank and it looks like Javier got the crap beat out of him." (please forgive yet again, my terrible photos.)
We emptied the water a little and we will see if that works!
6. I had to include this photo. We had some friends over for Labor Day and the men played Rock Band while the ladies chatted. Teddy wanted to get in on the action.
ROCK ON DUDE!

great update! Now get some sleep.
This is all great, Lara! I especially love your mealtime conversation. 4 bites + 1 for good measure. I'm going to have to try that out!
I love your conversations with Lulu, it's a good thing you're such a clever mom.
It's handy that Teddy likes to eat all the stuff he dropped while sitting in his chair, that saves you some cleanup eh?
Lulu makes a lovely ballerina.
That picture of her in the chair reading her scriptures is priceless. I love how she's crossing her legs and has the sunglasses on her head.
Poor Javier!
Ok so I completely miss Lulu and Teddy. Your daughter seriously is such a ham. I love them.
Umm hello fish cruelity...You really should not put 2 beta's next to each other when they are known for killing each other and when there is glass between them they smack into it trying to attack the other. Just not nice.. :)
I hope that shirt is for Jeff because that would be fantastic. If not you should buy him one and I will pay you for it. He is an XL ;)
I really miss your cute family. We will have to plan a trip to Texas so we can see you guys and also go to that amazing zoo/feeding place (whatever it is called)you guys always talk about.
Ignore my misspelling of cruelty. ;)
I love this post. Every where I go I'm hearing mothers say just 3 more bites... I found myself doing it too. I can't believe how much she looks like you sitting in that chair. I love Teddy, he is growing so fast. So we know who got the shirt.... hmm favoritism?
happy bday to cute little teddy! glad you liked the cupcakes!
