Guess What I Got?

Africa.

Well, my ticket to Africa. I depleted my Delta Airlines Frequent Flyer account and purchased my ticket for next June. Adam's brother goes a couple of times a year and I'm going with him for a little over 2 weeks. I'm excited. (An added bonus will be that my 16 year old niece is also going and I think it will be a fun experience with her.) I just hope I can be of some use. He has actually set up an amazing program and they do a lot of the cool public health things I studied in grad school. They don't do much with HIV, which is a little disappointing, but I'm certain I'll be busy. I'm sad Adam won't be going, but he will be in his last month of residency. Don't worry about him, he gets to go on a fun vacation in May. Instead of going to India next year (my choice) we are going camping in Yellowstone, which is his dream vacation.

Now I just need to figure out what I am going to do with my kids.

They can stay with us. For sure! :)

What a great thing to do. You are amazing--constantly stretching yourself and becoming more than you were. Inspiring!

And, I miss you. How the heck have I been in the Dallas area for over six months and STILL not seen you? Pitiful!

What part of Africa?

My girlfriend just informed me she and her husband are moving to Kenya (where he's from). They already have done a lot of work on setting up rural health clinics, and want to replicate it. She told me we should come over when we're in Paris next year. Sounds so very cool, and so very expensive.

Michelle-
We are going to Ghana. I'm actually still hoping that my project in Kenya will get funded, so I might be going sometime at the beginning of the year.

We can watch the kids. We have Lulu's room all ready. Plus since you invited Libby to Ghana and not us-
I think you owe us
