Perspective

I'm going to try and forget:
  • how I forgot to pick up my daughter from school. And when I frantically tried to call another mother from her class to help out, I found that NO ONE seems to carry their cell phone. Oh and the secretaries do not know how to get in contact with the teacher...
  • about the ridiculous number of times I was almost involved in a car accident, because people refuse to abide by a 4 way stop.
  • why I moved away from family in the first place. Family is always helpful when you are in the throws of a stomach virus and your husband can't answer the page you just sent him that contained "please come home soon. I have the stomach flu. I think I'm going to die."
But I will remember:
  • my cute friend Carrie that took Lulu to the zoo yesterday so I could take a nap with Teddy.
  • the amazing gift that people can give if they are organ donors. According to Adam, "a really nice man got a new liver today."
  • Lulu saying "mom, it's fine. Don't worry, it's really fine." After I picked her up 1/2 hour after her school let out, because I lost track of the time.
See.. life is good. Especially in the right perspective.

Good post! I forgot to pick Kaitlin up from gymnastics a few weeks ago. I got the gymnastics schedule confused with the preschool schedule. I was 20 minutes late, but I'm not sure Kaitlin even realized. I still haven't told Jeremy. Embarrassing.

I told you how I forgot to pick up your older sister.... maybe that was the turning point! Seriously, I talked to you today and you sounded fine... sure it's not food poisoning?

we all loose track of time and forget, but it's nice to know they still love us even when we're not perfect.

I'm glad you're remembering the good stuff. Moments of peace provided by friends...a beautiful thing.

What a good perspective to have, Lara. I've forgotten to pick up my kids more than once (gasp!). Good thing they're so resilient! Hope you're feeling better now.

I love that your label is "sharing organs is the right thing to do."

Glad you are feeling a little better.

I know I am going to forget. Time management is not a strong suit of mine. Love that she was reassuring you :)
