Weekend Activities
1. We went to our ward Halloween Party. It was also a chili cook off. After dinner the kids did a little "trunk or treating."
2. We took Adam to see the Fall Festival at the arboretum. A man asked to take a picture of Lulu's ruby red shoes. Lulu was happy to oblige.
3. I sliced my index finger open cutting a tomato for Teddy. Luckily I didn't need stitches. Adam patched me together and it seems to be healing. I've never realized how much I use my index finger, especially when typing a blog post. I guess I now understand why, according to Adam, they always try to reattach a severed index finger.
4. I've decided my skin isn't nearly as thick as I thought. With the election coming closer, presidential candidates seem to be the hot topic of conversation. I usually love this and can't get enough, but this weekend has sent me over the edge. A few friends were chatting and I mentioned I was voting for Obama. I'm not kidding, I swear the look of disgust on one of my friend's face could have killed someone. But it wasn't a look of disgust for Obama, it was a look of disgust that I was actually VOTING for the man. Interesting. She literally looked at me like I was the dumbest person on this earth. I'm not sure why it bothered me so much. I guess I'm sick of defending my choice, especially in the Mormon community. I'm not making anyone else defend their choice, why should I? Especially since it is usually me and then a gang of other people. I don't mind discussing the election. Actually I really enjoy it. I guess I mind when people act like if I only had all the information I would change my mind. Let me clear this up- I don't need the policies of either candidate explained to me. I understand them, really I do. I know.. shocking. I'm still voting for Obama. I can see the wheels churning and someone thinking.. but how could you still vote for Obama if you understand his policies? BECAUSE.. I WANT TO!
Oh well- I'll just be glad when it is over.

So sorry to hear Teddy has been sick! Loved your blog on Mac's--I soooo agree! And hey, you should come to California, there are plenty of Mormons for Obama here!
Yikes on the cut, index fingers are very valuable!
I totally agree on the whole election thing. I have been shocked how many of my friends are disgusted by Obama AND those who would vote for him. I have some disgust for the other candidate, but I try not to express it to his supporters! It's interesting how people can see things so very differently.
I've sliced my index finger before too and it was brutal, it makes everything harder.
Sorry about the voting situation with your friends, that's a sticky subject for sure.
I have been given that disgusted look naby a time. And the dumbfounded why?
Ditto, ditto, and ditto (and I'm voting the other way). You would thrive living here in LA. Want to move here? It's tough being a republican in this very blue state. I need a good democratic friend :D I, too, will be so glad to be DONE with this election. Either way - LET'S BE DONE ALREADY!!!
I would say the index finger is the worse one to injure- you just use it soooo much.
And ditto on the election thing. I am so glad today is already 1/2 way over. We voted early this morning and had to stand in line for 20 minutes listening to the woman in front of us bashing Obama and his supporters. All day Mya has been asking me why "that lady" hated who we were voting for and why were we voting for Obama if people hate him. Sigh...
