We have started the long and very annoying task of packing our apartment. How in the world have I accumulated so much ridiculous stuff? We have boxes of things I haven't seen in years, but I don't want to throw it away, because I really might need it... yeah right. Adam is currently sorting through his mission box and is making some progress (he got rid of half of it). We had this grand idea that we would work on one room each Saturday and clean out what we didn't need and pack at the same time. So- we are now one week behind, and probably two weeks behind by the end of the day. Our biggest problem is that we hired some movers for our major pieces and we have to be prepared when they come. We of course are not known for this feat. I think we have been packed maybe once.
When we lived in NOLA we moved 5 times in 4 years (including the initial move to NOLA). You would think we would be old pros? But, many of our friends that helped with each of the moves will attest to our inability to be packed by moving day. Wish us luck.
This is the reason we will not be packed in time: So Adam and I were able to catch a quick flick last night. We went and saw The Da Vinci Code. It was good. I haven't read the book (too many things on my plate when it came out and I just lost interest/forgot about it). I would say it is a little obvious, but still good. Carrie was babysitting for us and when we got to her house we chatted. She was also babysitting Jonah so when Kaycee and Brent got there we continued our chat and stayed for awhile. She finally kicked us out at 1am. I guess we had a lot to talk about. Poor girl. When we went to get Lulu out of the playpen she had somehow unattached her diaper and it was barely on. She has become crazy about helping to take off her diaper. Drives me insane! I think we are going to try the whole potty training thing soon.
We have a wedding to go to tonight. Adam has something else he needs to do, so I'll be wrestling Lulu on my own. It should be fine, but I'm nervous about keeping her quiet. Especially since the wedding isn't until 7:30pm. I have to drop Adam off at his thing, because my car is in the shop. Don't get me started. I hate how much it cost to keep your car running. I swear mine is constantly in the shop. I actually need to take it to the body shop, because last friday when I parked in front of Carrie's house to go to the waterpark, her neighbor hit my car. Thank heavens she let Carrie know. We have already experienced a hit and run in our life and I don't want to repeat the joy.
Totally random- Lulu has become quite the singing monkey. This morning we have already heard "popcorn popping on the apricot tree", "goodnight sweetheart", "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam", and "You are my sunshine". Adam and I were amazed the other day when we were driving and she was in the back carrying on a conversation and singing to her bear. Adam and I thought how funny it was that she is getting so big and how she used to just sit back there not saying anything and sleep. It has gone by really fast!

Good luck with the move, I hate moving!! It makes you realize how much "stuff" you collect over time.
Where are you moving? within Dallas?
yea- we are moving w/in Dallas, just to a bigger place!
jake and I decided to start getting ready for our move. Okay, so we won't be moving until 2008 (according to Jake) but we figure if we start now, we should have everything gone through and packed just in time.
We are very excited for you to move into your new place!
I miss hearing Lulu's songs. I didn't know she could sing "You are my sunshine". That is one of my favorites (Jake's too).

Good luck with the move...I always think I am going to be so organized but it always seems to sneak up on me and I end up throwing things in.
You can do it Lara! Even though its a pain in the butt, I actually love moving because it forces you to purge and simplify. Its rather gratifying.
I don't envy you at all with the moving. I am not looking foward to having to do it in 13 months...
I love the thought of Lulu singing. Evie is singing jibberish all the time to herself, if she notices me looking at her, she looks embarassed and stops. It is so dear!
I hate moving and get overwhelmed quickly at the thought of all the extra little stuff that has nowhere to go (like desk items, bills, and the stuff that rotates piles normally). Good luck with all that.
Lulu sounds so cute, you should record her singing so you can remember that sweet voice.
I know what you mean! Jackson and I were very happy to have a one month extension. We won't be moving until July 15. You would think we would use the time wisely and get more organized, but sadly no. I've taken to stripping a wood table that I got from Grandpa Libby's. Wait until you see it, the top was broken but we figure with some dowels we'll put it back together. Anyways we are actually driving,(yes I said driving) to Nebraska. So we'll try and come for a visit before the kids start school.sorry guess I got off the subject! Good luck packing! Kisses to Lu!
I just hate moving and never want to do it again as long as I live. Hope you are able to do it as quickly and painlessly as possible.
I really think that hell might be where you are required to perpetually move. I hate moving more than anything and I have done it many many times. The absolute worst part is when you get down to the end and you are surrounded by odds and ends that you have no earthly idea what to do with! The only good thing is that it does encourage you to purge since it is somewhat horrifying when you realize how much stuff you have... good luck to you!
I am excited for your move... I wish I could hear LuLu sing her wonderful songs. I miss her oh so much... To bad i cant help you move. I am pretty darn good at it. Love you
