The Daily Show

So I wasn't going to post about this, since I have posted about Stephen Colbert before, but I just had to.. Jon Stewart has got to be one of the most entertaining men out there. With the stem cell bill passing the Senate, but getting vetoed by Bush, he had some serious material this week (although highly irreverent). He covered some of the entertaining discussions that were held during the debate in the Senate this week, including my favorite: the crack pot (Senator Brownback) that used the talking embryo to illustrate his point, the white house press secretary answering questions regarding the veto, and again the crack pot with the talking embryos.. (really my favorite). He did suggest that they change the name of stem cell research to "The War on Terrorble Diseases". He also suggested they change the name of Parkinsons to something like- Osama Bin Parkinsons. He felt maybe this would help them to get some more attention. I told you it was a little irreverent. If you don't have access to the Daily Show- I sympathize with you.. we just barely got it when we moved to our new house. If you do have it.. Seriously- you will love it. Although- be forewarned.

Doug loves the daily show. The only problem is if you are not up on current events like I am anymore, I often miss the "joke"

Like you, we just got the Daily Show with our new house. Thrilled to have it. Have to remember to Tivo it--I seem to be falling asleep before its on lately. Everything starts so dang late out here. Irreverent is what he does best!

I haven't seen Jon Stewart talk about it, but we watched Jay Leno and his guest (I can't think of her name) was pretty funny about it too.

I enjoy Jon Stewart, but never watch his show because I took Comedy Central out of our channel rotation because there was too much questionable stuff on there and I didn't want my kids to stumble onto it.

I do miss the good ol' Daily Show. I love his commentary and tell myself all the time to download the episodes but always forget. I am glad someone else can find the humor in that show- seems like I don't know anyone else who likes it.

Jill- I understand.. I am shocked at the commercials. THankfully we have TiVo so I just skip the commercials. He will also have some crazy stuff on his show as well.

We really enjoy this show. We record it every night and then watch it later. I haven't been watching it while Marc has been gone, so I missed the episode in question. Sometimes I feel like The Daily Show is the only reason I know anything about current events! So sad...
