Pride and Prejudice/homes/Alias

Two of my sisters and I bought tickets for the Pioneer Theatre Co production of Pride and Prejudice. Although one of my sisters got really sick and required hospitalization (she had some crazy number of kidney stones) so she ditched us (kidding). It was fun to get dressed up for a night on the town. We went to dinner and headed to the theatre. The play was good. Mrs. Bennett drove me a little crazy (I thought she WAAAY overplayed the character.. I mean she is an annoying woman, but c'mon), but all in all- it was a remarkably good production.

In other news- my parents are finally ready to put the house on the market. It has been a rough couple of weeks, but I cannot believe the amount of blood, sweat, and tears they have put into the house to get it ready. Here is wishing them to a speedy sale.

I am falling in love with Alias all over again. Sure they had two very questionable seasons, but I'm willing to forgive when I see reairings of the first and second season. Sydney waking up two years later after disappearing, the amazing soundtrack that always accompanies the show, hello the doppleganger that is now impersonating Francie- really.. my favorite JJ Abrams production.

It's not everyday you get to use a word like doppleganger, way to go. I loved Alias until the last season and ended up not watching it because it was on against something else we got into, but I was just talking to Jenn about it last night and decided to get Season 5 on Netflix.

i LOVED Alias, but I did loose interest the last season. It got too complicated and everyone was secretly awful. Mitchell was my FAVORITE. Does wathcing Sydney Bristow not make you want to be in the gym 8 hours a day? Seriously!

Gosh, congratulations on getting the house ready--sounds like it was a feat. Best of luck to them in selling the house.

Does anyone remember how it ended last year. I was a bit turned off by the final season but the Matern's got me hooked on Alias. We too enjoyed the earlier seasons.

I loved Alias too, but lost interest in the last season. Maybe it's worth a re-visit.

I so feel for your sister with the kidney stones. Worst misery I've ever experienced.

You know I have never really watched Alias. That's it. I'm going to start renting them.

I hear kidney stones are the worst. My friend had them while pregnant and there wasn't much the Drs could do for her.

Good Luck to your parents on the sale of their house. I always find that a hard thing to do.

I have seasons 1-4 of Alias if anyone wants to borrow them (Amy M.) and even with it's major flaws, found myself as giddy as a school girl in the final episodes. It is killing me not to say more!

I'm sure you've seen the Keira Knightly version of P and P--I love love love it. I think that production had the best Mrs. Bennett yet. So fun to go out to the theatre!

Alias is another show we haven't gotten into but I hear that we should...

It's nice that you are blogging on vacation, I should have checked sooner to see if that was the case.

The pictures of LuLu are so cute. She is a doll.

I really wish I would have crashed the blogger party late! Who knew you would go into the wee hours of the morning. I hope to meet you at the next one!

It sounds like you have been a huge help to your parents.

We went to Pride and Prejudice too! We went on on the dress rehearsal night which is free. It was great except it was so HOT! I hope they got the heat adjusted for the paying customers.

found your blog on amy m's and had to comment because i LOVE alias!!! my husband and i were die hards. i wanted to quit the last season but knew it would be the end and had already invested the years before so i hung in there. especially since vaughn came back. too bad they had to finish it so quickly and try to wrap it all up. although at least they gave us that.

YES to the word DOPPELGANGER! It's German and totally underused. Good luck to your parents with the house. Must be a bittersweet time.
