I'm Mad at SIGG

** If you have a chance, please pop over to my friend Jordan's blog. She turned 32 today.

Wow-I've become quite the drama queen.

Months and months ago I got an email about the SIGG recall. Haven't heard? You can go here (because interestingly enough SIGG has taken down any mention of it from their website). I, like many moms, immediately ran out and decided to find a more suitable non-toxic option when the BPA news broke. Imagine my horror when SIGG announced their old liners also contained BPA. I got a group together and we mailed back 11 SIGG bottles for exchange. There were pretty little fairies (6 of them), small animals, cute circus friends, a snazzy little pirate.. you know- CUTE kids bottles.

I waited. And waited. Nothing. I've searched high and low for a way to contact them to find out where my bottles were. Then today, as I bundled the kids up to brave our freezing cold weather to shuttle Lulu to school, I found a box on my doorstep. In it, were 11 of the UGLIEST SIGG bottles I've ever seen. Sponge Bob- do I look like the kind of mom that would buy Sponge Bob?

I pride myself on rarely buying character themed items. If they get them from someone else- fine, but I RARELY buy them.

Sorry I digress. They also included a nice little letter letting me know that because I never used the code they sent me they just picked out some for me. They also included an extra bottle to make up if "the designs(s) may not meet your exact taste." Wait- you sent me what? Since I sent them I have doubled checked my email, junk email, deleted, etc waiting for communication (another friend did it too and she told me when she got her email) and there was never a code. I see the problem. They exchanged a "t" for the "d" in my name so I'm guessing someone else got those codes.

I've put a call in. They asked for my email. I spelled it slowly for them...very slowly. Now I have to go tell my friends that there is a good possibility they will be the proud recipients of this:
bizarre strawberrycrazy goth girl- maybe if they were 10, but 5 year olds want pimk and happy
AWESOME!

I kind of like the robot one. SpongeBob, not so much.

I will only buy Klean Kanteen because of this whole SIGG ordeal. Oh, and Thinksport. Luci (and I)likes that the Thinksport stainless steel bottles have a mesh screen so if drinking hot tea the tea bag won't slam you in the face plus in will hold back loose tea. As for cups and bowls, I was horrified to learn that the cute melamine wear at Target is made with formeldahyde . . . talk about a society in the toilet!! I am gradually switching over to stainless steel, purchased mainly online from camping type supply stores.

I pretty much hate character anything.
