The Perfect Moment
Last night I had one of those.. this is such a perfect moment. Adam had to go and perform some church duties, so Lulu and I were left to our own devices. We wrestled for a little bit (should I really be wrestling w/a 2 year old), played with her wind up fishing game (the best $2.00 I have ever spent) and just kind of played. She wanted to read a book so she ran to her bookcase and picked out a couple of books, including The Jolly Postman. It is a book that is about a postman that delivers mail to all the fairy tale characters (little red riding hood, the 3 pigs, etc.). Included are these envelopes with the actual letter. Well- he delivers to Cinderella a letter about her book deal and the advanced copy of the story she wrote (which is basically her story). It is this adorable tiny paperback book. So Lulu decides to lay down on her stomach and read the story to me. Obviously she just inserts all her normal sayings- "good day", "umm", "blah-blah-blah". It was so sweet. I just layed beside her and thought.. what a perfect moment. Suddenly realizing that this is what it is all about... helping to raise one of God's children. I know that there are lots of capacities you can accomlish doing this- being a perfect Auntie, being the ward grandma, etc.. I was so happy to have this small short glimpse into..life. Like I said- it was the most perfect moment. Now lets hope I don't screw her up.

it so great to have a moment like that to tell you you are doing a good job. Some sort of reward for all that you do for you little ones. very cool.
You could never screw her up. Lulu is the most amazing, intelligent, loving little girl. You and Adam are doing an amazing job with her. It is funny, I have three, but I admire and strive to teach and do things that you have done with her. You really are an awesome mom.
How great that you had that perfect moment and that you have a blog to write about it and archive it (another benefit to blogging).
I was enjoying reading about your perfect moment and then cracked up at the end about hoping you don't mess her up! I feel like that all the time...
