Recently Adam found out he won the best poster award at one of his meetings. He was excited, but became even more excited when they told him there was a cash prize. So- we decided to splurge and get this handy little contraption for our bike. It is nice, because since we had Lulu we haven't been riding our bikes together all that much. Now- we can take little family rides.
Lulu loves it and has really enjoyed the rides. She insists on having a water bottle.

That space ship looks fun! Looks like there is also room for a friend. What kind of poster did Adam submit? Can you post that?

Are you asking me since I mocked you? Some scientific something or other. I can't post it, because I don't have a picture.
The spaceship does have room for a friend and her name is Maren, Carrie and Justin's little girl. She took a spin yesterday. Usually it is just Lulu and her bear.
How fun!! I have always wanted one of those but I was too afraid my children would kill each other while I was riding my bike. I guess I feel like I have more control with my double stroller.
Oh- what kind is it, that's what we are asking Santa for for Christmas!
that looks like so much fun! i've been tempted to get one of those bike trailers and get the attachment to use it as a jogging stroller. i love how it is completely enclosed and protected from the weather!
Yes, I want to know what kind it is too, do they have double seaters? Triple, actually. I'm in denial that we are going to have three monkeys.
It is a Trek- Go Bug. We looked around and felt like this was the best deal. We love it and got it off the recommendation of someone else. The other thing, it is really light weight.
It is a double seater.
that is the coolest thing ever. can you jog with it too. I am in need of something like this for Maryn
Our neighbor who has twins gave us her's but I just need to get a bike for myself so I can hook it up. (The current rusted, broken bike I own I bought I think for $50 bucks from a missionary in New Orleans---what was I thinking???!!)
How fun, I want to be pulled around in that too.
I got a bike trailer recently but haven't tried it yet. Have you done it or just Adam? I'm curious if it makes the biking much more difficult. Mostly I'm afraid I'm not adept enough at biking yet to have my little one trailing behind...
lara. did you get a new email. i emailed you yesterday and it got sent back. i will try again.
thank you for posting this. we have one that i got at a garage sale. the other day we went for a bike ride, but jeff's bike tire was flat so he ran along side annie kate and i riding. how sad it was that my husband can run faster than i can ride a bike. i kept saying this thing i am pulling so heavy. i know they must make them lighter! he said well you look into it and find out what is out there. this thing looks awesome.
did you get it online or at a bike shop?
i remember the first time jeff said he was doing a poster and i thought cool let me see it. then when he showed it to me, i was like "WHAT?" i didn't realize a poster meant a researach paper blown up and put on a poster.
So I haven't tried it, just Adam. We just got the attachment for my bike. He said it was a little harder w/ 2 kids, but that you hardly notice it on the back. However, he is a pretty consistent bike rider, so he is in better shape. But, I have faith I can do it.
We got it at a local shop (we looked on the Trek website and it was about $200.00 more- crazy- I think we must have gotten an older model). We are terrible at shopping around, so there might be one cheaper out there. We went off a recommendation from a friend. We also both have Trek bikes and thought we would just stick with the same brand. Not sure if it matters, but we have been REALLY happy with our bikes.
I haven't ridden (is that word?) a bike in like 20 years. That's disturbing. How fun for you guys to be able to take bike rides as a family.
Oh and I forgot- you can actually buy an attachment so it works as a jogging stroller as well. I think we will just stick with the whole bike trailer- is seems a little big to be a stroller?
