I am a snowglobe collector. Not a big one, but mainly snow globes from the places we have been. I only have about 12 or 13, but each one was painstakingly collected to help us remember all the amazing places we have been. I say painstakingly, because you would think they are easy to come by.. No.. well-the cheap silly ones are easy, but the really sweet and nice ones are kind of hard to find.
When we moved to our new apartment we discovered plaster was their wall of choice. Adam researched the best approach to hanging our pictures and we were quite pleased with our many options. We hung my little postman's box and carefully placed my little treasures (okay cheesy, but really they are) in each of the cubbies. I was really nervous and kept asking Adam if he really thought it would hold- two weeks later.. the baby falls to the earth and in a matter of minutes- I have lost my Paris snow globe. Thankfully so many others survived the fall and I only lost the tops (not the glass) off of my London and Disneyland. However.. Paris. Oh sad day.
I remember when we went on our search to find it. We looked everywhere, but just couldn't find one. Finally we asked the concierge at our hotel and he pointed us to the giant department store. Wouldn't you know it- they had a perfect little one just waiting for us. I was so excited.
Oh sad day!

The worst part- I never took a picture to document how it looked the day I bought it.

I am so sorry to hear that! That totally sucks and its not like you can just hop on a plane and go to get one. Maybe you could find one on ebay. Even though it wouldn't be as memorable.
Sad, sad day. I am so sorry.

That's a sad story. I hope you figure out a more stable way to showcase your snow globes in the future. Michelle's moving to Paris for 6 weeks next spring, perhaps she can find another one for you.
That sucks, espeically when it's something that cannot easily be replace. Guess you'll have to go back to Paris.
That is sad. When my little sister was like 7 she got a snowglobe for Christmas and begged to take it to school for show and tell. Well, I think you can guess the rest of that story. When I read about your globe breaking it reminded me of my 7 year old sister crying at school. sad sad sad.
that is a very sad sad day. And I agree about Michelle, heck now you know someone over there for six weeks you might just have to join her.
I can't wait to see the India one you find, that will be the true search I think
I was actually thinking of michelle last night when I was cleaning the mess up. She mentioned her hubby was going for a conference and I got thinking.. hmm do you think he would pick up a new globe for me? I love blogging.
I think my sister and I are going to take 2 days when we go to India and explore. I think this is why I'm sad, but not as upset as I would be.
Oh, very sad! I guess you'll have to come visit us in Paris next year and look for a replacement...
that is terrible....but at least you still have the base??? any consolation??? I know what you mean, it is hard to replace things when they are so unique!
I would be totally sickened. I am so sorry.
The part that is sad is that you havent realized that Ebay has one just like it. hehehe What sister is going to India with you? Ohhh I ruined your surprise huh. You are taking me... Oh how sweet. I will start packing now. Love ya
